State Landcare Love

There’s a lot to love about Landcare and this week the East Gippsland Catchment Management Authority (EGCMA) would like to send a big congratulations to all of the nominees in this year’s Victorian Landcare Awards. Held at Government House in Melbourne on Sept 1st, East Gippsland was well represented in the Awards with five nominees; including  Eastwood Landcare Group, Friends of Beware Reef, the Gunaikurnai Land and Waters Aboriginal Corporation, Mick and Cindy Robinson and Ann Robson.

Well done to Friends of Beware Reef who won the Coastcare Award and to Ann Robson who was commended in the Australian Government Individual Landcarer Award category.

Graeme Dear, EGCMA CEO said “It’s fantastic that we are able to celebrate the achievements of our Landcare and community groups like this, particularly during National Landcare Week. We acknowledge the level of commitment shown by all those working to improve both our environment and agricultural productivity.”

We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of Country throughout East Gippsland and pay our respects to them, their culture and their Elders past and present.
