Sustainable Agriculture

Drought Programs

Farming through drought years is hard and so is knowing what to do and when to do it. Gippsland farmers used strategies to prepare for the next dry.

Topsoils

The TopSoils project is a multi-partner East Gippsland region project centred on improving soil condition for farm profitability through farmer driven focus groups and demonstration sites.

Sustainable Agriculture Facilitator

Through the National Landcare Program, the East Gippsland CMA supports a Sustainable Agriculture Facilitator. The Facilitator is hosted by Far East Victoria Landcare.

We acknowledge the Traditional Owners and First Nations people of East Gippsland and recognise their continuing connection to Country, Culture and Community. We pay our respects to Elders past and present.

The artwork featured was proudly painted by local Gunaikurnai man, Bradley Brown.

"The artwork is of this Country; East Gippsland and the people and conversations we have to preserve them for the next generation. It's about the river systems that flow through this area, the mountains and landscape leading to the sea."
